These pieces are hand carved by an artist in the Pacific Northwest who specializes in prehistoric mammoth ivory and whale bone. Prehistoric mammoth ivory has been legal to buy and sell for the last 300 years.

A bone carving, amulet, koru or talisman will change color as it is worn. It has been said it will absorb some of the spirit (body oils) of the wearer. That is why traditionally the giver wore it for a short time before gifting to another. So that their spirit was with the other, and the two were as one.

If you see one you like, buy it now. As one is sold it is gone forever. No two are alike. Some of his more elaborate pieces have 120 hours and more into scrimshaw, carving and polishing detail.

The metal loops on some are merely base metal, costume jewelry. Not gold or fine jewelry. None of these are made of modern ivory or even ivory that was imported prior to 1989. These are prehistoric.
